This article explains how AI credits work for AI Assisted Reports, and what to do if you need more.
What are AI credits?
Generating an AI Assisted Report uses computing resources to read your Simply Stakeholders data and write the report. To manage this fairly across accounts, report generation is metered using AI credits rather than being unlimited.
Credits are only used when you click Generate on a report. Building or editing a report's Instructions, saving a draft, and viewing a previously generated report don't use any credits.
How many credits does a report use?
Credit usage depends on the size and complexity of the report — how much data it needs to read and how much writing it needs to produce. A short summary for a single stakeholder uses fewer credits than a long, multi-section report run across an entire project, such as a Social Impact and Social Value report.
Your current allocation
AI Assisted Reports is currently in beta. During this testing phase, each user is provided with an allocation of credits included in their account at no cost, so your team can try the feature and give us feedback before we finalise pricing.
Once pricing is confirmed, AI Reports will remain an opt-in add-on rather than something added to your account automatically, and we'll share the pricing structure with you before any charges apply.
Tracking your usage
A credit status bar on the AI Reports page shows how many credits you've used and how many you have left, so you can see where you stand before generating another report.
You'll also get an on-screen notice at two points: once you've used 75% of your allocation, as an early heads-up to plan your remaining reports, and again once you've used 100%, letting you know you'll need more credits before you can generate a new report. Reports already generated stay available to view and export, only new report generation is affected.
For an account-wide breakdown by user or by project, Admins can also use the AI Usage Tracker, found in Admin Settings > Tracking & Data Organisation > AI Usage. See AI Features & Usage for more detail.
Running out of credits
If you or your team use up your allocated credits, you won't be able to generate new AI Reports until more are added to your account. Previously generated reports remain available to view and export as normal.
